Architect
Tamka Sports Centre

This project is located in the heart of the city not far from its centre. Due to lackluster and plain neghbourhood, I had to design a strong and balanced form. Dynamic and cuneal shape emphasizes the corner type of the parcel. Architectural concrete with characteristic strong formwork helps to bring out the form of the buildings body and blends its colours with the surrounding enviroment.

The main inner element of the building is a climbing wall with the central staircase next to it. From the stairs, we can see through all the parts of the building and watch people climbing the wall. This main middle core with a a huge vertical curtain wall is the biggest glazed part of the building. The front section is covered with the horizontal window blinds and contains small aerobic rooms, gyms and halls. On the east side of the main area there is an underground parking linked to the main core and the main sports hall above it.
