Wisla Water Bus Station

This universal construction was designed to match most of the waterfronts in the cities. Originaly, it was to be located on the left bank of the Wisla river in Warsaw, to provide shelter from sun and rain for poeple waiting for the water bus.

The roof structure is the defining element of this design. Hexagonal wooden grid was developed from the overlapping thin beams connected with bolts and secured with waterproof transparent ETFE membrane. The whole structure is supported by two main pillars, leaving most of the area beneath the roofing open.
