This project is a modernization of the existing devastated and untended market at the corner of Powsinska and Bonifcego streets in Warsaw. Besides of reviving this trading area, I wanted to create a living public space which will attract more people. The main idea was to connect two main parallel streets, Powsinska and Konstancinska to create a passage allowing people to fluently walk between them and giving them opportunity to interact with the structure. The configuration of the stalls and the design of the floor helps to invite people walking the main alley of the Powsinska street to enter the area.

I designed notice boards built into the flooring as a single structure to provide information and guide poeple into various trade stalls. I created the sitting areas with benches and litter cans designed specialy for this place. Stalls roofing is made of the stiff ETFE structure, and most of the floor is covered with the easily maintained polyurethane.
